Mining Guide (Pictures)

Okay, this is a guide to start mining. This skill is one of the "unknowns" on how to train. It is rather hidden.

To start, buy a rune pickaxe from Nurmof, the dwarf in Edgeville. You can be level 1 attack and level 1 mining to use rune pickaxe. There are NO requirements to start mining.



Once you buy a rune pickaxe you can clear out your inventory or you can teleport straight to pest control.

Okay, once you get there run south until you get to the rocks.


Okay, the best way to level, in my opinion, is to mine rune essence. You just have to click it once for a full inventory and you can use it for runecrafting later.

Text: Mine these. They give the best experience. They are rune essence.

After you get a full inventory, which shouldn't take long, you need to bank. You do NOT have to teleport back to Edgeville. Just run a little to the East and you'll come to the Pest Control bank.

Just bank and repeat as much as you want.

ALSO: Everyone needs to know that rune essence will most likely NOT get you to 99 mining. I just thought it would be common sense to go to a higher rock when rune essence got super slow. I have made it to 56 mining so far just on rune essence.

Level Requirements:
Tin & Copper Ore: Level 1 - 71 Experience per ore
Rune Essence: Level 1 - 220 Experience per essence
Iron Ore: Level 15 - 200 Experience per ore
Coal Ore: Level 30 - 300 Experience per ore
Mithril Ore: Level 55 - 500 Experience per ore
Adamant Ore: Level 70 - 700 Experience per ore
Runite Ore: Level 85 - ??? Experience per ore

Edit: Rune Essence gives 220xp.
Copper and Tin Ore both give 71xp.
Iron Ore gives 200xp.
Coal Ore gives 300xp.
Just thought you might like to add those.

Thanks, I'll add those later, but even though the coal gives 300 xp per ore rune essence is still way better because you only have to click one for an entire inventory, and rune essence is really fast.
